Girl Can't Help It

Me and my hubby at the park yesterday. I feel like in the second photo you can tell I’m sick. Boo.

(in case anybody has noticed and wondered why I still tag photos with him as “boyfriend” it’s because I have it to where you can see pics of him with that tag and I don’t want to start all over with husband, ya know?)

I like trying to imagine what William is going to look like. I suspect from the ultrasound that he’s going to look more like Patrick (he’s the bald baby, I’m the one in the cap), at least head shape wise. William’s nose also looks bigger than mine from what I can tell, but I think a lot of me and Patrick’s features are relatively similar, so he should probably wind up with a good mix. I hope he gets my eye and skin color but Patrick’s hair color, although if he ends up blonde (or I guess he could be a brunette, just less likely imho) it’ll be fine. I’d just like a blue-gray eyed redhead.

I can’t wait ‘til I can get a 4D ultrasound so I can see his features more clearly, I was hoping for a good profile shot when we had the 20 week ultrasound but he wasn’t cooperating.

Just for fun here’s another pic of me. I was going to use this one as comparison since it’s clearer but went with the other one because Patrick and I have a similar pose, similar angle and it was one of the only photos I wasn’t smiling in where my cheeks puff up and squish my eyes.
…I hope he has some hair, though. Patrick was bald at first, haha.

So I have a ton of photos from my wedding now. I just spent the entire day yesterday uploading them to Facebook, deleting the repetitive ones and ones that just weren’t so great I had to have them up there. It was seriously over 400 photos.

As such, I’m not going to be uploading all 400 photos to Tumblr, but I want to show them off. So I’m going to be uploading them over the next few days (maybe weeks if I just can’t pick my favorites) in themes.

Today’s theme is more wedding preparation. I think most everything was done at this point but I still had photos I wanted to show off. The next post I do is going to be the actual ceremony (which I have two albums of from two different cameras, so I have no idea how I’m going to do that).

So the first photo is just a pic I liked of me and Patrick, I kinda wish we’d gotten more photos with the balloons.

The second picture, when expanded, shows our gift table. We made a mailbox like the one from UP!, except with our names (although Carl and Ellie would work since his middle name is Carlyle and mine is Elizabeth). You can see the colorful streamers we used instead of birdseed, too.

Next to that is a close-up of the photo charms on my bouquet. I included one of my best friends, Courtney, who was murdered a few years ago, my father who died before I was born and my grandfather who died when I was a kid. All three people were very special to me and I couldn’t imagine having them in some way be a part of my wedding. They were sorely missed.

Next is my beautiful bridesmaids. They did wonderful getting dresses for the wedding. I wanted them to be able to wear the dress again so I told them to get what they want, so long as it was in the color I wanted. Other than that, just not much longer than their knees.

And another picture of my bouquet and the charms. It was lovely.

And finally, some of the wedding desserts. The cake was really only for me and Patrick as I was determined to have one after I painted the little birds to go on top. Patrick actually had to run and buy it from Wal-mart a little over an hour before the wedding. We’re on top of things and classy. The cupcakes are from a little bakery and I am so sad now because at the time I didn’t want to eat them at all, I was still over cupcakes from the taste test we had to do of them and now I see these photos and just wish I had tried at least one. They look delicious. Oh well.

Again, the photos were done by my amazing friends and you can check out their website here!

The first photo you see of us together is after Patrick’s uncle informed us that he had KFC in the car if we wanted some. Patrick and I were starving, neither of us had eaten that morning, so we jumped on the opportunity. I couldn’t eat very much, but it was still nice to be able to get a little bit in me… especially since I was pregnant

The next couple photos are of some of the flowers. Sunflowers were my main flower—growing up I remember looking at photos my mom had of her and my daddy and seeing photos of sunflowers he grew. I always associated the flower with him so when I got engaged it was a no-brainer it would be my wedding flower in honor of him (my father died 3 months before I was born of cancer). Also, sunflowers are just so pretty and I love them. When we went to look at flowers at the wholesale place I just decided iris would be pretty with it. We had blue iris around my house that I remember from my childhood, I’ve always loved them, so when the colors just seemed perfect together it just made the decision that much easier (also, looking in a baby name book later I saw iris means “rainbow” so I think it’s neat we chose some for our rainbow-themed wedding). The white flower is something like white caspia, I believe. We used it just to add a bit to the bouquet.

I made Lupe’s flower garland out of black fabric and some fake flowers I bought at Hobby Lobby. I super glued them on, only to realize later there was probably an easier way using floral wire and tape. But it worked, so it’s ok. While I could personally dye her hair pink, I had it dyed pink at the groomers. It took three hours instead of 45 minutes like originally thought, poor girl.

The photographers did a great job getting photos of my wedding rings. Unfortunately, I didn’t get my engagement ring cleaned before the wedding ‘cause I ran out of time… but it’s ok.

I bought that rainbow bracelet off Etsy, I had found it via Off Beat Bride’s pintrest, I believe. Or maybe a post they made. I forget.

My printer decided to stop working so when we tried to print out our vows we got nothing. I had to hand-write my vows down before the wedding while everybody was setting up. I had written my vows two months before, didn’t really care for them and had planned to go back and re-write them. Luckily, I saved the ones I had because I never got to re-write anything so I had to go with what I originally had.

And finally, me and Lupe. She is a needy little dog and loves her mommy, and her mommy loves her… when she’s not annoying the crap out of me, which is most of the time. But seriously, she’s a good little dog.

Today’s theme is “My husband is a total goofball.” These are all photos taken in the morning (they were supposed to be the groom and groomsmen getting ready but the girls got delayed for an hour so it turned into just photos of them.

His vest is reversible because his mom did not approve of my blue dress with his red vest (I guess she thought it would look overly-patriotic, which wasn’t our intent). She pushed for the paisley you see on the inside of the vest and since she’d already bought it she made it to where he could have both.

And that is his sweet blue car pictured. He actually bought it missing the front bumper, in case anybody is wondering.

This is seriously the only photo I have yet from my wedding and it’s awkward.

I’m expecting! Baby due September 1, 2013!
(Also, Patrick took this photo so it’s his own fault he’s cut out of it… but it was the best one we got of the ultrasound and that’s the main focus so here it is, haha)

One month ‘til our 2 year anniversary! 2 months and a few days ‘til our wedding! Yay!

Prepare to be spammed over the next week or so with photos of me and Patrick and our girl Lupe from our trip to the dog park today (and various other days I’ve forgotten about). I don’t spam my tumblr with my face enough anymore, haha.
Here I was trying to get Lupe to look at the camera, but I love this photo. Not the cutest of Patrick but I have other good ones of him that will come later.
What a beautiful family we are :)
